Welcome Back!

Well, we have completed a full week of school.  I am thankful that we did not cancel yesterday!  I'm also thankful to you for sending each student to school!  I pray that you had a wonderful 2 weeks at home with family and friends!  When Monday rolled around I was very eager to come back!

National Lutheran Schools Week … Please be sure to look over the blue information sheet that went home in today’s Friday Folder for information on special dress days and special activities.

Ascension Lutheran Church … Just a reminder that we will be singing at the 10:15 service at Ascension Lutheran Church on W. 14 Mile Rd. in Beverly Hills.  Students should be to the church by 10:00.  All families are invited to stay for the Pancake Breakfast following the service.  As some of you may know, Ascension doesn’t have a church so they are very excited for our students to come and sing during the service.

American Symbol Project … Please take a look at the sheet that came home in your child’s take-home folder today.  It has information and due dates listed.  This project is not meant to be a stressful project – students should be able to complete it with guidance/a little help from parents.  Students have 1½ weeks to complete their paragraph and model.  Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at mazurt@ourshepherd.net.

Theme Dress … Friday, January 16, 2015 will be our first theme of the new year.  Students may wear a hoodie with jeans for $1.

Pizza Kit Fundraiser … Just a reminder that Pizza Kit order forms went home Wednesday.  The money we raise will be used for all athletic equipment -- playground items, P.E. supplies, athletic team supplies.  It really benefits everyone in the school!  Our goal is to raise $1500.  Please prayerfully consider helping!

Memory Work: Due Thursday, January 15, 2015:
The Sixth Commandment You shall not commit adultery.  What does this mean? We should fear and love God So that we lead a sexually pure and decent life in what we say and do, and husband and wife love and honor each other.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Spelling Lesson 15: Test on Friday, January 16, 2015:

cannot, pancake, maybe, baseball, playground, someone, myself, classroom, sunshine, outside, upon, nothing, into, inside, nobody, everywhere
