At the end of September, we had an awesome opportunity for the Detroit Lions organization to come to our school. We had a short assembly about bullying and had 2 special guests:
Roary!
AND Joique Bell!
We even had our moment on national television! It's too bad that it was so late that none of the second graders could watch it:( Thankfully, I was able to record it & show it to them the next morning!
We took part in our school's Walk-A-Thon which raised a lot of money for our PTL and will fund several assemblies and activities this school year.
We spent time learning about Urban, Rural and Suburban communities...
We sang in Chapel with the first graders...
We had a Tailgate Party before the Fall Festival where we made skeletons out of Q-tips, decorated cookies and took pictures in our own "photo booth"!
Who doesn't love a little bit of cookie with their frosting and decorations? |
These were really fun to make! |
These were fun to take! |
Which brings us to November! What a crazy start to the school year this has been! We have been busy learning about Patriotic Holidays and Songs in Social Studies and it was especially meaningful to learn about Veterans Day. We had a special Show and Tell on that day -- Hunter brought in his Great Uncle's Flag to share with us. It was just a reminder of the sacrifices our soldiers make so that we can live freely!
Thank You Veterans! |
Now, you should be caught up to what's been happening in our classroom! I'm sorry that I was missing for so long, but I promise to try harder from now on!
