Greatings from "The Fort"

Well, I'm sending this to from the great city of Fort Wayne, Indiana!  I've had a wonderful time here since Thursday night!  My niece had her friend birthday party last night and while it was wonderful to be able to see her friends again and share that experience with her, I am reminded why I love the classroom!  Excited, costumed, sugar loaded girls reach pitches I have thankfully never experienced in my classroom! So this morning as we decide what we are going to do with our Saturday, I am bringing you our Second Grade Standard!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Science is Starting! … We took our Social Studies test this past Thursday, which means that we will be switching to Science until the next test.  Chapter 10 will be over how matter changes.

Book-It! Forms … Just a reminder that New Book-It! forms went home on Friday.  Students are expected to read for 20 minutes a minimum of 5 days each week to reach their goal for the month.  Please have students turn in October form on Monday, November 4^th.

Report Cards  … Your child’s report card should have been in their Friday Folder.  If you didn’t receive it, please contact the school office.

Parent-Teacher Conferences … If you haven’t signed up for a conference time, please take the time to stop by the room, and sign up for a time.

Picture Retakes … Monday, November 4^th is the date set for retakes.  Please be sure to bring in your pictures.  These must be returned at the time of retakes.

O.S. Learn OnLine … Please take time this weekend to have your child log-in to our school’s Learn OnLine website. Students should use the same username & password as they use for Computer class.  Please be sure to enroll in Second Grade.  If your child is unable to log in, please let me know so that I can fix it before the next test.
