Recipes
Needed … We are going to be working on a special Christmas
project from now until Christmas Break.
Students need to bring in one of their favorite SIMPLE recipes.  We will be using these to help us write “How
To” stories and compile a special Christmas present for our families :).  Thanks for helping us pick out a recipe.  Please be sure that your child has this
recipe by Friday, December 7th.
It’s
Cold Outside!  … Yes!  It’s seems that the cold weather has come
earlier this year – at least the snow has… So, you know what that means don’t
you???  Winter Recess Gear!  Please make sure that your child brings all
their winter gear to school every day.
We never really know what the weather is going to be like by the time we
go to recess so it’s better for us to be prepared!  Students should have boots, snow pants,
gloves, coats, etc. each day.  Thanks for
your cooperation!
Cookie Walk!
…  Just a reminder that volunteers
are still needed for the Cookie Walk this next Thursday (after school) and
Friday (6:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.).  If you
are able to help out, please sign up on the sheet taped to our classroom
door.  Also, remember that each family is asked to donate 4 dozen
cookies.  Thank you for your generosity!
First and Second Grade Choir … We will be
singing on Sunday at the 9:30 service.
Students will sit with families and come to the front when Mrs. Priskorn
calls them up.
We’re Walking, We’re Walking … We will be
walking over to church on Wednesday, December 5th to view the Middle
School Musical.  Since we are walking
from one church property to another, a permission slip isn’t required, but I
just wanted to keep you informed!  If you
would like to join us for the production, we will be leaving the school at
1:00.  The Dress Rehearsal begins at
1:30.
Classroom
Christmas Party … We will be having our classroom Christmas
Party on Wednesday, December 20th.
The party will begin at 10:00.
If you are able to help by supplying any of the needed items please sign
up on the sheet outside our classroom. Also, as is our tradition, 2nd
grade doesn't exchange gifts.  We do
however make treat bags.  Each child may
then bring in a little something for the children in the class.  This can be a homemade treat, a nice note, a
small toy or pencil, etc.  The idea is
not to spend very much money at all! Things at the dollar store that are sold
in quantities of 12, or things like that, are wonderful for this occasion.  Please contact me if you have any questions!
Mid-Quarter is Here! … Today
marks the halfway point of the second quarter.
Please take time this weekend to look over your child’s grades on Fast
Direct.  If your child has any missing
assignments and you are in need of second copies, please let me know by an
email or note.  Please be sure to include
the name of the assignment!  Thanks!
Tests, Tests, Tests … Unit
2 Reading tests came home today.  The
students did very well.  Students are not
able to make corrections on Reading tests so what you are receiving is a report
on your child’s performance.  Also, we
will be having a test in Science over Chapter 8 on Thursday.  A review is already available on the school’s
Moodle site.  If you have any issues
trying to log in to the Moodle site, please let me know ASAP so that I can help
you to resolve the issues!
Giving Tree Child …  We are still in need of a few items for our 4
year old boy:  Slippers, size 9-10,
Games, Flash Cards (sight or color words work best for this age), and
shampoo.  Thank you for all the donations
that have been given so far!  It will
make a huge difference in this child’s life!
Memory Work due Thursday, December 6th:
Behold, the
dwelling place of God is with man.  He
will dwell with them, and they will be His people. Revelation 21:3
The Lord is

The Third Article of the Apostle’s Creed.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian

the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
