Well, we made it! I don't know about your children, but when I came home on Thursday I took a nap! It was a long week! But it was wonderful! We are so thankful to be together this year! And, we are so thankful to welcome 3 new students to our classroom! Paige, Mariyah and Jack...We are so thankful God has brought you to our school!

Welcome! ... Welcome to Second Grade! I’m excited to start this year with each of you! This week our newsletter is coming home in paper form, but after today you can find it on our classroom blog or Fast Direct.

Spelling City … We will be using www.SpellingCity.com this year to practice and take our weekly spelling tests. Your child was given their username and password yesterday. I wrote it in their assignment books. Please take time this weekend or next week to take a look at it. It’s a great site!

Nut Free Room … Just a reminder that we are a nut free room! Please do not send in any snacks with nuts in them. We want to do all that we can to make each child safe in our classroom!

Remind … I have set up a notification system with Remind.com. Included in your child’s folder this week are instruction to sign up for our classroom. I will use this throughout the year to send reminders and notifications. It’s completely free and your number/email is not shared with anyone.

Classroom Facebook Page … Yes! We do have a page! We will be using it this school year to connect to family and friends and let them know what we are up to in our classroom! Simply go to www.facebook.com/SecondGradeSaga and like our page to have our events and posts added to your daily feed!

Classroom Blog … Please visit www.mazurosls.blogspot.com to keep up to date with what is going on in our classroom. This will also be one of the places you will be able to obtain a copy of our classroom newsletter after this week!

Fast Direct … Fast Direct is currently updated with your child’s homework since the start of school. Please make this a part of your weekly routine to check your child’s account. I strive to keep up to date on Fast Direct so that you can be informed of your child’s progress.

Tin Cans Needed … I am in need of a few tin cans for supplies around our classroom. If you happen to have a few, please send them in with your child next week!
