Also, students should have brought home their Social Studies test that I spoke with you about at conferences. I also asked them to bring home their books as well so that they could make corrections. Corrected tests are due back to me by Tuesday.

Giving
Tree Family …
This Christmas Season, the O.S. Student Body will be adopting a family from the
Giving Tree at Church. Our Adopted
Family consists of 2 sisters who are parenting their children together. One sister’s husband was killed and she is
now left to raise their children alone.
To help make ends meet, she has moved in with her sister who is raising
her children alone as well. Student
council is asking for each child to bring in $2 to help cover the cost to
purchase gifts for this family. All
monies raised from today’s jeans day will also go toward purchasing gifts for
the children of this family. Finally, all
offerings collected during the month of November will be used to help purchase
gifts for other families from the Giving Tree located at Church.
PTL
Cookie Walk … Please consider helping with the annual Cookie
Walk. It is sponsored by the PTL with the help of 2nd and 3rd grade parents. Volunteers
are needed for set up on Thursday, December 5th after
school and for sales on Friday, December 6th in
the morning. Sign-up sheets will be posted on the classroom door.
Book Orders … These
were sent home today in Friday Folders.
Now is a great time to be thinking about books for Christmas presents! You may purchase books online using classroom
code “HCPJM” or by simply sending in your order. If you would like to keep your order secret
from your child, please just send me an email to let me know & I will
contact you when the order comes in.
Thanksgiving Celebration … We will be having our Thanksgiving Celebration here at
school with our First Grade schoolmates.
We are in need of paper bags to use as vests for each student in our
class. If you have any paper bags please
send them in this week. Students will be
receiving their food assignments for our feast early this next week. Please look for that to come home! Also, if you are able to help us on that day,
please contact me! There is a lot that
goes on behind the scenes that you could help us with!
