Friday
Folders … We
didn’t get to our Friday Folders today!
We had so much fun on our field trip to Upland Hills Farm!  We will be bringing them home on Monday!  Thanks for your understanding!
Book-It!
Forms …
October kicks off this year’s Book-It!
Reading Challenge.  Students were
given a calendar to fill out each day that they read.  For the month of October, I am challenging
each student to read for 20 minutes at least 5 times each week.
Changes
Ahead! … I
will be changing the way we have Social Studies and Science.  Since we really only have 2 days a week for
each subject it’s hard to build on concepts learned. So, we will be alternating
between Social Studies & Science.  We
will complete 1 chapter of each subject at a time.  So next week, we will be starting Chapter 2
in our Social Studies books.  We will be
working in Social Studies only until it comes time for that test.  Then, we will switch to Chapter 10 of
Science.  We will keep alternating in
that way until the end of the year.
Listening
Skills …
Your prayers are working!  I put up a new
“reminder” at the front of our classroom indicating which noise level we should
be at…it is a BIG helper!  Keep the
prayers coming!
Book
Orders …
The flyer will come home on Monday.
However, if you would like to place your order online simply go to www.scholastic.com.  Select book orders. Our classroom code is
“HCPJM.”  There you will find all the
books available from this month’s book orders. Orders are due Monday, October 14th.
Picture
Day is Monday! … We
will be taking our school pictures on Monday.
Students are allowed appropriate dress up.  Jeans and sleeveless shirts are not allowed.
Memory
Work – Due Thursday, October 10, 2013:
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the
wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him
may have eternal life. John 3:14-15
Remember the wondrous works that [the
Lord] has done.  1 Chronicles 16:12
There
will be no spelling test next week!
