Today has been a wonderful day!  We FINALLY got our 5 iPads for our classroom!  Mrs. Kowitz and I worked last night to put the apps on them to start the year with...Here's how we used them today:
We continued learning about Urban, Suburban and Rural areas.  Students were put in groups and asked to come up with 5 characteristics about the area that they researched.  I saw a lot of great co-operative learning going on!  They were very impressive! I'm looking forward to using these iPads in other ways to enhance our classroom learning!
We are continuing to build our Reading Stamina!  Yesterday we had a bit of decline, but today we bounced back with 5 minutes of uninterrupted reading!  Our goal is 20 minutes, so please keep us in your prayers!
Finally,  Our bagel sales begins tomorrow.  Bagels are 75 cents, cream cheese 25 cents and juice is 50 cents.  Please remember that students will only be getting to eat bagels until the end of morning announcements.  It simply is a survival issue for our classroom.  If we don't limit it to the first 10 minutes of school, they end up on the floor or cream cheese ends up on someones clothes, etc.  If students aren't able to finish their bagel they can either save it for lunch or afternoon snack...or they can take it home and finish it there.  So, it's a good idea to get her and be ready at 8:00 to give the students as much time to eat bagels and also take care of their morning housekeeping!  Thanks for your cooperation!
