Dear Second Grade Parents,
Yesterday, during Morning Prayer, a student
asked if we could pray for the families in Connecticut. Very quickly, another
child asked what happened, and before I could respond, a third child
stated a brief description of the incident to the class. I
then addressed it by reassuring the students that we were just as safe
today as we were last week and most importantly that our Heavenly Father
is always with us no matter what happens. I then told them that if they
had any further questions that they should definitely speak to their
parents, and that they and their parents could also come to me or to
Mrs. McLoughlin. The subject came up again at the end of the day during
our prayer, where I reminded them that they were safe and to talk to their
moms and dads should they have any further questions.
I apologize for not informing you that the
discussion took place. I should have given you a “heads up” so that you
were prepared. I didn't do that and I am deeply sorry.
Please know that for situations like this, if you
should have any questions, I am always available through email (mazurt@ourshepherd.net)
or my home phone number (248- 854-1191). For those of you who came
to me directly with questions, thank you!
In Christ,
Miss Mazur
